About the Role

The Victory Academy Assistant Lead Teacher is responsible for assisting Lead Teacher with the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth & development of all children under his/her care. An Assistant Lead Teacher is responsible for assuring that the classroom is in compliance with NC childcare laws, and is expected to work as a team with fellow staff members to accomplish daily goals while maintaining harmony in the classroom and amongst the children and families we serve.

Position Responsibilities
-Assists in preparation and implementation of lesson plans, bible lessons, daily schedule, and newsletters
-Maintains structure and consistency in the classroom
-Maintains a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
-Works directly with children
-Develops relationship with children, parents, and other staff members
-Creates an exciting and stimulating classroom environment
-Provide quality supervision continuously throughout the day
-Develops great relationship with the children, parents and staff
-Diapering daily in age-appropriate rooms and properly sanitizing/disinfecting after each change
-Potty training and handling soiled/wet clothing should an accident occur
-Maintain flexibility in working in all classrooms
-Assist in training and guiding new staff members that are in classroom
-Attends all staff meetings
-Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Education

    • NCECC from a licensed/accredited program is preferred, but not required.

    • At least 2 years’ experience in a childcare classroom setting.

  • Skills and Abilities

    • A love and passion for children and Jesus!

    • Great communication skills and proper grammar (verbal & written)

    • Must be CPR Certified

    • Problem-solving, resourcefulness, and priority-setting skills.

    • Ability to bend, lift and carry up to 35-40lbs.

    • Ability to do laundry
