What a church preschool morning looks like
Most church preschools in the Raleigh area—ours included—run weekday mornings, roughly 9AM to noon or 1PM. The rhythm is predictable on purpose: arrival and free play, circle time with a story, a snack with a simple prayer, music and movement, outdoor play, and a craft or hands-on activity. The Bible isn't a separate subject bolted onto the schedule; it shows up as the morning's story, the song everyone learns, the "thank you, God" before snack.
At Victory Academy, that looks like a morning rhythm where faith is woven in rather than added on—gentle, age-appropriate, and repeated enough that children carry the songs home.
Do children still learn academics?
Yes—and this is the most common misconception. Church preschools follow the same early-childhood milestones as any licensed program: pre-reading skills, counting, fine motor work, and the social-emotional learning that kindergarten teachers say matters most. The faith layer doesn't replace learning through play; it sits alongside it. Our classrooms are organized by age from 6 weeks through 4 years, each built around what that stage actually needs.
What denominations run preschools in Raleigh—and does it matter?
Raleigh's church preschools span Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, and non-denominational congregations. For most families the denominational label matters less than the answer to one question: what will my child actually be taught? Ask for specifics. You should hear a concrete answer—stories, prayers, songs—not a vague "Christian environment."
Victory Academy is a ministry of Victory Church, a non-denominational church in Raleigh. We teach that God made your child and loves them—no denominational tradition attached—and families from every church background (or none) are welcome. You don't need any connection to Victory Church to enroll.
What church preschools cost
Because they're part-time, church preschools cost a fraction of full-time daycare. In the Raleigh area, church-run morning programs commonly run $140–$300 a month depending on how many days a week you choose, often with a registration fee. Our rates are published—from $217 a month for two mornings a week—because price shouldn't be a mystery you have to tour to solve.
Questions to ask before you enroll
- What will my child hear about God, specifically? A good program answers without hesitating.
- Do we have to attend the church? At most programs—and at ours—no.
- Who's in the room? Background checks, CPR certification, consistent teachers.
- What are the hours, really? Most church preschools run a school-year calendar, Monday–Thursday. Ours runs Monday–Friday, 9AM–12PM, and you choose 2, 3, or 5 mornings.
- Can I see a real morning? Tour during class time, with children in the rooms—not an empty building.
